STEM Learning with Curious Kids

The kindergarteners enjoyed a STEM enrichment program by Curious Kids. This maker and tinker class was on forces and interactions. They explored what a force is (push/pull) and how we see and use these forces in daily life.

First, they investigated forces using a super ball and read a book about motion. Next, they worked in groups to see the forces in action creating tube marble runs and discussing gravity. They also used their bodies to investigate what pushes and pulls they could do themselves.  Lastly, they discussed how the principles of engineering work, and what steps engineers follow in their work. Applying these steps, the children were given the task of creating an animal out of clay using pushes and pulls. Learning about science, technology and engineering has never been more fun!
