All-School Enrichment: Author Visit

On Friday, 11/08, The Little School welcomed author Maureen Harrington and her amazing dog Ivy. Maureen wrote Ivy the Very Determined Dog about Ivy who was diagnosed with a genetic spinal disease at age 3 and left paralyzed in her back legs. The story highlights an inspiring message about how Ivy has not let her diagnosis stop her from living life to the fullest. The entire school, PreK-5, had a chance to meet Maureen and Ivy, listen to the story, watch some videos of Ivy and ask questions. They also got to see firsthand how Ivy walks both with her wheels on and without. The visit was a lot of fun with smiles all around and the children walked away with a special bookmark to remind them of Ivy’s story and that anything is possible if you believe in yourself!
