Kindergarteners "Just Say WHOA" in Bullying Prevention Enrichment Program

On Thursday, March 17th, Mrs. Kasle's and Mrs. Nickerson's kindergarteners had a visit from Lifting Spirits' founder Toni Hadad and special guest Peaches, a 26" palamino and white pinto dwarf mare. Toni and Peaches presented the Just Say "WHOA" to Bullying program, a bullying prevention program which aims to build a foundation of understanding and promotion of a positive social environment of kindness and good citizenship. Using core values of acceptance, tolerance, respect, and understanding of others, the program helps children to recognize and respect the differences in one another and understand that each individual has something special to offer.

Students discussed bullying, ways to step up against bulling, and they learned to say "WHOA" - We Help One Another - to bullying! They also got to spend time with Peaches, who showed her St. Patrick;s Day spirit with her green hair!

Just Say "WHOA" to Bullying Pledge

I promise not to bully others

and to stand up for those who are being bullied.

I promise not to say mean things to or about others

and to remember that being different is OK.

I will be a good friend and help my community

by being a good neighbor.

WHOA!
