Welcome returning and new families! I am so excited to get the year started.
For those that do not know me, I am Rebekah Hinds, the PTO President for 26/27. This is my second year in the President role and I’m looking forward to expanding on some of the events and ideas we started last year. I have a 5th Grader and a 3rd Grader this year and my youngest just started preschool.
For families that are returning, you likely already know what a special place E. E. Little School is and for new families, I can’t wait for you to settle in and get to know our community. I am so proud of the staff, teachers and community support available to our kids and feel fortunate to play a small part in enhancing that experience.
The main goal of the PTO is to work within our school to implement enrichment programs that all of the students enjoy such as author visits, science programs and dramatic historical presentations to name just a few. Our enrichment committee does an incredible job working with each grade level team to find appropriate curriculum based programs to bring into the classroom. Did you know that the Little PTO also gives every teacher and specialist a stipend every year, subsidizes field trips and gives scholarships every year to a Little School Alum graduating from high school?
We do all this and so much more, but we can’t do it without your help! It takes funding and volunteer hours to make our PTO a success and we are always happy to welcome new volunteers! My goal is to be an organization where everyone feels welcomed and heard. Drop us a line via email, join us for a meeting or just say hi when you see me out and about!
We have a fun year ahead with some favorite events returning, some enhancements to previous events and some new events to look forward to.
